Irrigation Activation

For $60 ($45 for our maintenance customers), we’ll come and turn your system on, and fire off each zone to determine that water flows properly through your system.  We’ll also set your timer to control when your system turns on, and for how long.

Keep in mind that it’s early in the growing season.  Your irrigation system should act as a supplement to rain.  Typically, late May or early June is when temperatures really start to heat up, though we still receive some rainfall.  Late July and throughout August is when you’ll want to reset your timer to accommodate the hottest and driest months of the year.

Irrigation Audit

For $150, we’ll perform a thorough irrigation audit.*  An audit is recommended for any system that shows signs that repair is needed, or for new homeowners who have inherited irrigation systems they are not familiar with.

We locate all zones and indicate which areas of your yard are covered by that zone.  Coverage is rated from poor to excellent.  We determine each zone’s particular style of irrigation head, as well as its condition.  If a repair is needed, we’ll tell you exactly what needs to be done and what specific parts will be used, along with a competitive price.  And you’ll receive all of this information emailed to you in a report that you can reference for years to come.

Post-color stains were applied by hand to the ashlar slate interior, as well as the roman slate border.

Jayson applied two different Proline stains – ‘mission brown’ and ‘buckskin’ – to individual squares, right on top of the ‘pinto’ base color.  The border was colored with ‘raw hide.’

This photo isn’t terribly exciting, though it’s intended to illustrate one point.   Everyone reading this post has probably pulled into a parking lot just like this one at least a handful of times this past week.  Someone is responsible for keeping these lots clean and tidy so that you don’t have to look at garbage or fallen leaves.  And we’re happy to do just that.

We have a good amount of residential maintenance clients, and we wouldn’t be where we are today without them.  This year, in addition to gaining more residential clients, our goal is to add 8 commercial sites to our roster.

Last week we gained the B of A on 6^th St in Bremerton.  If you live in or around
Bremerton, you know the one.

Jeff Matheson, our Maintenance Lead, goes above and beyond with our commercial sites, making a personal connection with the manager and asking him or her at the end of the day if there is anything we missed that they’d like done.

We removed her existing lawn and installed rock features such as a dry creek bed to break up the space and add structure.

She requested evergreens in shades of blue and green.  We planted blue star juniper, which likes full sun but is tolerant of shade and has a rich blue foliage year-round, along with hebe ‘karo golden esk,’ and ‘hetz midget’ arborvitae to name a few.

We selected grasses such as blue fescue and sedge for texture, alongside Japanese anemone for fun and colorful plant pairings.  Liriope was selected because of its attractive violet-blue flowers.

Structure is the key to every great landscape.  Even underneath a layer of snow, a unique combination of varied elevations, interesting shapes and textures can be
appreciated.  The photo below demonstrates this beautifully.

The subtle yet effective concrete steps leading to the front door seem to lift the front entrance.  Mature evergreens  frame the house with impressive proportions, while the evergreens lining the entrance pathway casually contrast in size.  Amidst this rather tranquil scene, the two bare, ornamental trees offer balance, varied
texture, and interestingness.

In lieu of siding, vertical concrete can be used for a decorative touch to various parts of the home.  Jayson applied a vertical concrete overlay to bay windows for this project.

Vertical concrete can also be used for entryway walls and the exterior of a chimney to name just a few examples for the exterior of the home.  This product can be used indoors as well.

Vertical concrete can easily be manipulated to resemble stone or brick, and is less expensive than both.  Color will be applied soon, so check back to see the final product!

This flagstone pathway leads to a sloped staircase which provides safe access to the back of our customer’s home.

The impact of the Three Rivers flagstone is greater on wet, gray and rainy days, which we have no shortage of here in the Northwest!  It’s as if the surrounding landscape blocks and gravel become muted in the background, and the abstract patterns of gold, tan, copper and periwinkle take centerstage…
